Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about CrewNest
Crew members pay a small 8% service fee on bookings (with loyalty discounts down to 3%). Hosts keep the vast majority of their earnings — founding hosts pay 0% commission forever. All fees are shown upfront before you book, no hidden charges.
When you sign up, you upload your airline employee ID or credentials. Our team manually verifies every submission within 24 hours. Once verified, you get a Verified Crew badge and can book instantly. This keeps the community 100% crew-only.
Each listing has its own cancellation policy set by the host: Flexible (free cancellation up to 24 hours before), Moderate (free up to 5 days before), or Strict (50% refund up to 7 days before). The policy is clearly shown on every listing before you book.
Our AI analyzes your base airport, schedule patterns, preferences (quiet hours, parking, women-only), and budget to recommend the best crash pads for you. AI matching fully unlocks at launch (Q3 2026) — join the waitlist to be notified when it goes live.
Booking is exclusively for verified airline crew members — pilots, flight attendants, and other airline employees. Anyone can host, but all hosts must pass identity verification and a background check before their listings go live.
Every host is background-checked. Reviews are submitted independently by both parties and revealed simultaneously to prevent bias. We monitor messages for safety with CrewNest Shield, and our 24/7 support team is always available.
Instant Book listings are confirmed immediately when you reserve — perfect for last-minute stays. Request Book listings require host approval within 24 hours. Both options use secure Stripe payments.
A hot bed is shared between crew on different schedules — when you're flying, someone else uses the bed, and vice versa. It's the most affordable option. A cold bed is yours exclusively for your entire stay, whether you're there or not.
